Emergency Management Director

It performs the duty assignment according to his or her own judgement, requesting supervisory assignments only when necessary. Special projects are managed with little oversight and assignments may be reviewed upon completion. Is responsible for the mitigation of, preparedness for response to and recovery from natural and human caused disasters and major emergencies occurring within the County. Responsible for seeking, monitoring and reporting on State and Federal grant funding associated with recovery projects. Serves as a point of contact for property owners, contractors, fire districts, members of the public, county staff and other agencies for emergency and recovery management. Topics/issues with potential to fall under the coordination umbrella include rebuilding, debris removal, erosion control, revegetation, insurance, transportation (roads and flooding), human services assistance, public health, wildfire mitigation, emergency response and others as they arise. This is a full-time FLSA exempt position, benefits eligible, including paid leave usable for Health Family Work-Places Act purposes, wage between $65,187 - $94,494 depending on qualifications and experience. This posting is being announced in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act to ensure transparency in our hiring practices.

Office of Emergency Management – Interim Director
To ensure continuity of Office of Emergency Management (OEM) services to the residents of Custer County and surrounding organizations while an extensive search for highly qualified replacement for retiring OEM Director is conducted, the Custer County Board of County Commissioners is accepting applications and letters of interest for a full-time Interim Director.
